What is the difference between a Physio and a Bio?
A Physio is a first-line practitioner who deals with the assessment and rehabilitation of disease, deformity, and injury. Treatment may include hands-on manual techniques such as soft tissue release, mobilisation or dry-needling and initial rehab exercises. Many of these exercises begin to overlap with initial phase Biokinetics rehabilitation.
A Biokineticist uses scientifically-based exercise prescription as a modality for final-phase rehabilitation to prevent the reoccurrence of an injury, and improve overall health and physical performance. For example, a patient who has rolled their ankle and has swelling on the joint will initially see a Physio for assessment, pain relief, and restoration of joint range of motion. The patient will then be referred to a Bio to strengthen the muscles around the ankle joint to prevent the injury from reoccurring.
What should I wear?
Please come in activewear - something comfortable and easy to move in. Your clothing must allow for exposure of the joint we are assessing.
Do you do Vitality testing?
